OUR CALLING
FREEDOM
This is not just a movement about freedom, it’s a movement against apathy! A movement for making a real difference in the lives of Mozambican women, and as a result, in society as a whole! We are directly engaged on the ground, committed to this place and the people! We are here to make a difference and we need your help!
HELLO NACALA!
our move from Pemba to Nacala
In May 2021 because of increasing conflict in the Cabo Delgado Province, we relocated our team to the Nacala City area in Nampula Province, 6 hours by road south of Pemba. Since then we have been constructing our new womens’ centre and we are nearly finished! (For regular updates follow us on Instagram and Facebook!)
In September we opened our doors to our first small group for our pilot Freedom program..and we are so excited to officially open in early 2024 to offer literacy, discipleship and vocational training to vulnerable women in our local community as well as women displaced by war from Cabo Delgado.
Our ultimate goal is to make disciples through initiatives lead by nationals, empowering women with true identity and freedom and economic opportunity!
With your help we are excited to work towards the official opening of our Nacala Liberty Womens Centre in March 2024! A safe space where women can come, learn, grow, equip and flourish!

Equipping & Empowering
Everything we do at The Liberty Project is about empowering each young girl and woman to know their true value and identity, through discipleship, educational support and obtaining new vocational skills. These three areas help break the chains of sexual exploitation and abuse, bringing about free futures!
We have two areas in which we focus in Nacala.
Prevention - educational support focusing on equipping and strengthening young women through health and literacy lessons and helping to establish true identity through Human Rights and Discipleship.This prevents women from being so vulnerable and lowers the risk of future exploitation.
Vocational Training - hands on vocational training programs equipping young women in practical areas including, artisanal crafts, hospitality and beauty. These skills have the possibility of helping them obtain employment.
serve with us…
In 2019 we ran our first cafe and hospitality program graduating seven women after 9 months of training and one month in our pop up cafe, The Liberty Cafe. We are currently seeking a long term missionary couple to to re-establish The Liberty Cafe in Mozambique on permanent basis;
Training and employment through the outworking of a cafe or other business are vital in providing women dignified skills and empowerment to financially provide for her family. Employment and empowerment in new skills is a powerful and necessary step in breaking the chains of slavery, exploitation and the poverty cycle.
IF GOD IS CALLING YOU TO SERVE IN THE AREA DISCIPLE MAKING THROUGH BUSINESS please email us with your interest. hello@the-libertyproject.org
