Life-changing impact is not a short-term action and to do what we do, we need passionate and skilled individuals committed to serving with us long-term in Pemba.  It not only increases our effectiveness and enables us to run our organisation, it also and helps immensely in building trust with the women and community who we serve. This is a vital component to outworking our purpose in their lives.

Intern with us!

Are you finishing high school or university and want to put what you’ve learned into action? We have a 10 week internship program where you will get to put your skills into action and impact lives! This is an opportunity equip yourself in new and different ways in a non-profit and cross cultural setting, expanding your world view and adding to your life skills. This is also an excellent chance to refine and increase your professional skill before starting in the work force full time! These things also look great to future employers and universities! We have various areas for graduates to get involved from media management, to office management, fashion design to photography; or in ministry areas such as discipleship, outreach and worship leading. Upon completing this program, you will receive a certificate of achievement, a letter of recommendation and items for your portfolio* – if applicable. Bring a team!

We love to welcome corporate, university and church teams for short term, project-based assignments. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your team while experiencing living and serving in a cross cultural setting in Mozambique Africa. We have many projects suitable for teams to take on like: building our Liberty Center, teaching new vocational skills, setting up a business, or running specialized courses for our ladies or staff teams and are open to ideas too. If you have something specific that you would like to achieve, or would like to find out about up upcoming projects, click the link below.

media manager – pemba

This is a role that covers all areas of our organisaiton from our Freedom Program to vocational training, community discipleship activities and our clothing label The Collective Africa, and our cultural surroundings and daily life in Mozambique. This is a vital role for communicating with our donors and supporters! This person would have experience or excellent natural skills in Photography, Videography, Photo Editing, Social Media Management and communications… a bonus would be Graphic Design. This is a fun and vibrant role available for 1+ year commitment. Some understanding of brand representation would be great but not a requirement as can be trained in Pemba.

PA & Office manager - pemba

We are looking for someone passionate about administration and serving in a general capacity that can join our local Pemba team. You will be able to juggle day to day admin tasks, PA duties, as well as managing monthly reports, and coordinating volunteer applications and hospitality arrangements for visitors. You will be an integral part of our team, bringing together many areas to keep us running effectively and smoothly…You will also have plenty of opportunity to get involved in other areas of our organisaiton if you wish. This person will have excellent organisational, computer and time management skills.

Program facilitator – Pemba

We are in need of a Program Facilitator for our Freedom Program, Vocational Training Programs and Community Discipleship Groups; you will co-ordinate teachers, classes and needed materials. This person will have experience in team management and planning. This an office based role, but this person will also have interaction with various other areas of our organisation, and the women we serve. Experience in teaching, vocational training or community work would be an added bonus but isn’t a requirement.

Operations Manager - pemba - 2020

We’re seeking someone skilled in leadership and the detail of day to day operations with a passion and desire to see women discipled and free from sexual and cultural exploitation. This is a long term 4 year minimum commitment, missionary role - 2020 start. You will have experience in ministry, business and cross cultural missions/ministry. This role will oversee all of our departments including discipleship, community development, Hospitality Training & Cafe, Freedom Program and other areas as we continue to pioneer in Northern Mozambique. Looking for someone ready to take on the challenge of pioneering this organisation in Northern Mozambique. We are heading towards our goal of reaching 100 women a day in Liberty Centre. Our goals are big and the future is bright for women in Mozambqiue - are you up for the challenge?

cafe manager – Pemba - 2020

We are in need of an experienced cafe manager to lead the re-opening of Liberty Cafe in Pemba 2020. You will have experience in business and hospitality in a similar cafe or restaurant and be passionate about business in missions. This is a two year minimum commitment missionary role. You will lead the day to day operations of The Liberty Cafe and be responsible for the development and training of our Liberty Cafe staff. This cafe offers employment and on the job training to women from backgrounds of exploitation and is key in breaking the cycle of poverty and slavery. This cafe is a beacon of light and connection point in our community serving both the local and expatriate communities.
