We love to welcome corporate, university and church teams for short term, project-based assignments. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your team while experiencing living and serving in a cross cultural setting in Mozambique Africa. We have many projects suitable for teams to take on like: building our Liberty Center, teaching new vocational skills, setting up a business, or running specialized courses for our ladies or staff teams and are open to ideas too. FASHION DESIGNER, pattern maker & PRODUCTION Manager
We are looking for a fashion designer and pattern maker to join our team to work within The Collective Africa. This is our ethical fashion label established to offer jobs to women who graduate from the Freedom Program and to help The Liberty Project become financially sustainable for the long term. This will be a full time role developing designs and patterns, sourcing textiles, working with the creative team on seasonal campaigns, overseeing the seamstress team and working with our international distributors. This person would have studied or worked in fashion design acquiring the skill of pattern making.
HOUSE MOTHER – RESIDENTIAL CARe – january 2019
Our residential care facility 'Liberty House' has just opened and urgently requires someone mature with a mother heart filled with love to pour out on women from backgrounds of extreme brokenness. This person would need experience as a mother or experience working in a similar facility. This role is to disciple, love and walk alongside the women living in our residential care home. To manage the home and teach them how to live in a modern, western style house.
SEWING TEACHER – January 2019 - July 2019
This person must have experience and excellent skills in sewing. This person will lead daily sewing and design classes in our 12 month long Freedom Program with women from backgrounds of sexual exploitation and abuse. A heart for women is a must, as well as a desire to see these women free from their pasts - vocational training is a key part to bringing freedom and sustainability to their futures. An added bonus is the ability to design and make patterns. There is opportunity for this person to be involved in the training and development of our seamstresses for our ethical clothing label The Collective Africa. www.thecollectiveshop.org This is a seven month position with the option to extend from January 2019 – July 2019.
Office manager – the liberty project
We are looking for someone passionate about administration and serving in a general capacity that can join our local Pemba team. You will be able to juggle day to day admin tasks, PA duties, as well as managing monthly reports, and coordinating volunteer applications and hospitality arrangements for visitors. You will be an integral part of our team, bringing together many areas to keep us running effectively and smoothly…You will also have plenty of opportunity to get involved in other areas of our organisaiton if you wish. This person will have excellent organisational, computer and time management skills.
café manager – liberty project - June 2019
We are looking for a professional with high standards and a PASSION for excellent coffee, food and service to join our core team. Someone with well rounded cafe skills, including, barista, service, management, planning, training and cafe set up. In June we are beginning the set up of the next step in this exciting adventure in Mozambique; Establishing a cafe as part of an enterprise and training opportunity both for the women in our Freedom Program and also to create financial sustainability for The Liberty Project long term in Pemba. We have a brand design and architecture company in Dubai and the USA sponsoring the design and implementation phases of this project and will be in Pemba in June setting up this project. This cafe will is being established on a roof top with a view over Indian Ocean.
Program facilitator – freedom program - January 2019
We are in need of a Program Facilitator for our Freedom Program, co-ordintating teachers, classes and materials for the women in our daily 12 month program. This person will have experience in team management and planning. This an office based role, but this person will also have interaction with various other areas of our organization, and the women we serve. Experience in teaching would be an added bonus but isn’t a requirement.
discipleship leader – freedom program - January 2019
This person would have a passion for walking alongside women and with a gift for teaching the word of God. We would love someone with previous pastoral or teaching experience in ministry or seminary who has skill in developing curriculum and resource in this area; however it is not necessarily needed dependent on the natural ability and heart of the person applying.
media manager – the liberty project - January 2019
This is a role that covers all areas of our organisaiton from our Freedom Program to our clothing label The Collective Africa, to our residential care home, to our cultural surroundings and community involvement. This is a vital role for communicating with our donors and supporters! This person would have experience or excellent natural skills in Photography, Videography, Photo Editing, Social Media Management - a bonus would be Graphic Design. This is a fun and vibrant role available for mid or long term commitment. Some understanding of brand representation would be great but not a requirement as can be trained in Pemba.
